Willie Maurice Gallman 7 (26 June 1895-10 April 1978), the eightth child of William and Martha Gallman, was born in Union County, SC. She married John Knox Windell (15 June 1882-6 February 1953), the son of William Henry and Dora Ann Blankenship Windell of Fort Mill, SC. Willie graduated from Winthrop College, now Winthrop University in 1917. She taught school in the Rock Hill, SC area for many years. She died of cancer on 10 April 1978. John Windell died on 6 February 1953 in Rock Hill, SC. Both are buried at Grand View Memorial Gardens, in Rock Hill, SC. They were the parents to two children, both born in Rock Hill, SC: John Knox Jr., and Carolyn Ray.

John Knox Windell, Jr. 7 (10 April 1922-12 September 1971), the first child of John and Willie Windell, married on 1 June 1947 in Union, SC, Annie Ruth Wilburn (14 September 1922), the daughter of C.T.S. (Charles Terry Scaife) Wilburn and Mary Haseltine Wilburn of Union, SC. Johnnie graduated from Clemson University in 1943. He served in the Army in the Pacific during WWII. He owned and office supply in partnership with a fellow Rock Hillian. Ruth graduated from Winthrop University in 1943, she taught school in Conway, SC for four years prior to their marriage in 1947, then taught in the Rock Hill schoold for 49 years. He is buried at Grand View Memorial Gardens, in Rock Hill, SC. Ruth resides in Rock Hill, SC (2000). They had one child: John Terry.

John Terry Windell 6 (17 March 1962), the only child of John and Ruth Windell, was born in Charleston, SC. He graduated from Clemson University, where he was the photographer for the movie Taps. He is the co-owner of a printing company in Rock Hill, SC. since 1973 where he resides. He is not married.

Carolyn Ray Windell 6 (9 May 1930), the second child of John and Willie Windell, married James Campbell Davidson, Jr (6 May 1927), the son of James Campbell and Ella Brymer Davidson of Rock Hill, SC. Carolyn is a graduate of Winthrop University, class of 1951, and worked for Wachovia, Charlotte, NC from 1951 to 1954 and from 1970 to 1985. Jim is a graduate of USC, Columbia, SC class of 1950, and worked in the Engineering Department of the City of Charlotte, NC from 1950 to 1956, and Piedmont Natural Gas Co. from 1956 to 1993. They reside in Charlotte, NC. They have two children, both born in Charlotte, NC: James Campbell III and Jane Carol.

James Campbell Davidson III 8 (21 November 1954), the first child of Jim and Carolyn Davidson resides in Charlotte, NC. He is single.

Jane Carol Davidson 8 (25 June 1956), the second child of Jim and Carolyn Davidson, married on 4 March 1983, in Charlotte, NC, James Yates (1 October 1952), the son of David and Dorothy Wylie Yates of Fall River, MA. Jane graduated from UNCC (UNC-Charlotte) in 1978, from the National School of Paralegal Training in 1979, and from Delta Airlines Flight Attendant school in 1979. Jim is graduated from UNCC in 1974. He worked for Eastern Airlines from 1974 to 1985, and for MCI from 1985 to the present, where he is employed in the Human Resources. They reside in Marrietta, GA. They have two children, both born in Atlanta, GA: Brittany Carolyn (5 February 1986) and Blair Victoria (10 May 1990).

Frances Ann Turner 5 (20 August 1858-29 July 1926), the second child of Thompson and Elizabeth Turner, married Henry Newell Gallman (15 June 1858), the son of Henry Thomas and Rapsey Elizabeth Smith Gallman. Henry was the brother of W.M. Gallman. Both Frances and Henry were born and died in Union County, SC. Henry died 19 April 1905. Both Frances and Henry are buried at the Gallman Family Cemetery, Kelton section of Union Co, SC. They were the parents of eleven children, all born in Union County, SC: Wallace T. (19 July 1878- 21 July 1878); Nancy Leila; Sam S.; Lula; Boyd; Thomas Albert; Mamie; Arthur W.; Louise; Joe G.; Ruth.

Nancy Leila Gallman 6 (11 January 1880-23 June 1946), the second child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married in 1899 in Union, SC, Anderson Thomas Charles (26 October 1879), the son of Anderson W. and Elizabeth Bates Charles of Union County, SC. Anderson owned and operated several stores in Union, SC. He died on 23 June 1946 in Spartanburg, SC. They had five children: Rachel Clarice; Byrtie Mae; Elizabeth; Fay (male); Allen Thomas.

Rachel Clarice Charles 7 (4 June 1903-20 March 1981), the first child of Anderson and Nancy Leila Charles, was born in Union, SC. She married on 17 September 1925, in Greenville, SC, William Thomas Coleman (4 June 1902-9 August 1977), the son of Henry Ellis and Carrie Mae Williams Coleman. Clarice was a graduate of Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC and taught in the schools of Union County, SC and Travelers Rest, SC. Clarice died in Greenville, SC. William died in Travelers Rest. They are buried at Woodlawn, Greenville, SC. They were the parents of three children, all born in Spartanburg, SC: Eleanor Charles; William Thomas, Jr.; Marianne.

Eleanor Charles Coleman 8 (7 August 1926-23 June 1992), the first child of Rachel Clarice and William Thomas Charles, married David Pickens ‘D.P.’ Garrick, Jr. (17 April 1916-30 July 1994), the son of David Pickens and Zaldie Alma Jamison Garrick of Easley, SC. Eleanor graduated from Mars Hill College, Mars Hill, NC. She worked for the Greenville News-Piedmont Co. in retail advertising, wrote a column for the Travelers Rest Monitor titled ‘Between Me and the Mountains’, was a member of the Nathaniel Greene DAR Chapter and Public Relations Chairman of the South Carolina DAR, 1991, and was very interested in genealogy. Eleanor died in Marietta, SC. She is buried at the Coleman Memorial Cemetery, Travelers Rest, SC. They had two children: David Pickens III; Donald Charles.

David Pickens Garrick III 9 (17 December 1948), the first child of Eleanor and D.P. Garrick, was born in Slater, SC. He married first, on 30 October 1970, in Travelers Rest, SC, Roxanne Hester. The marriage ended in divorce. Roxanne and David had two children: Melanie and Andrew. David married second, on 23 June 1999, in Las Vegas, NV, Martha Dianne Williams (27 June 1951), the daughter of Jimmy Williams Sr. of Hamilton, AL. David graduated from Clemson University in 1975. He and Dianne reside in Atlanta, GA. They have no children.

Melanie Garrick 10 (2 January 1980), the first child of David and Roxanne Garrick, was born in Columbia, SC. She is attending Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA (2000).

Andrew Garrick 10 (3 January 1983), the second child of David and Roxanne Garrick, was born in Greenville, SC. He is attending Centennial High School, in Roswell, GA (2000).

Donald Charles Garrick 9 (19 July 1956), the second child of Eleanor and D.P. Garrick, was born in Greenville, SC. He married Ruby Mull of Piedmont, SC. Don attended USC in Columbia and works for a Walmart Distribution Center in Joanna, SC where they reside (2000). They have no issue.

William Thomas Coleman, Jr. 8 (11 August 1931-28 June 1987), the second child of Rachel Clarice and William Thomas Charles, was born in Spartanburg, SC. He married Sarah Burnett ‘Bunny’ Drake. They had four children: Bobby; Jim; Steve; Joy Lynn.

Marianne Coleman 8 (23 April 1936), the third child of Rachel Clarice and William Thomas Charles, was born in Spartanburg, SC. She married first, on 28 November 1958, in Travelers Rest, SC, William Randolph Bull (7 August 1936-23 February 1972). The marriage ended in divorce. She married second, on 20 January 1969, in Hartwell, GA, Fred K. Bryant (8 July 1936), the son of Fred Kenneth and Clovie Cappell Bryant of Pickens, SC. Thee were divorced in March 1973. She married third, on 18 July 1979 in Greenville, SC, Glenn Newton Lackey (1 November 1940), the son of Lillian Lackey of Pickens, SC. Glenn and Marianne have no issue. They reside in Greenville, SC (2000). Marianne and first husband William Bull had one child: Rachel Cynthia. Marianne and second husband Fred Bryant had one child: Russell Charles.

Rachel Cynthia Bull 9 (1 October 1959), the child of Marianne and William Bull, was born in Greenville, SC. She married on 28 August 1988, in Fountain Inn, SC, Calvin Lewis Lollis, Jr. (7 March 1958), the son of Calvin Lewis and Nancy Jean Goodwin Lollis of Fountain Inn, SC. They have two children, both born in Greenville, SC: Lewis Blake (15 April 1992); William Connor (1 December 1995).

Russell Charles Bryant 9 (8 January 1972), the child of Marianne and Fred Bryant, was born in Greenville, SC. Rusty attended Clemson University to work on a degree in Englis. He is single (2000).

Byrtie Mae Charles 7 (7 April 1908-18 April 1997), the second child of Anderson and Nancy Leila Charles, was born in Union, SC. She married on 19 October 1930 in Union, SC, Dillard Crawford Rogers (1 August 1905-27 August 1980), the son of Jessie Silas and Mary Etta Owens Rogers of Union, SC. Dillard had been previously married. Dillard and Byrtie both attended USC, in Columbia, SC, he for legal study. Dillard died in 1980 in Prince George City, MD. Byrtie died in 1997 in Silver Springs, MD. They had three children: Ann Elizabeth; Martha Cornelia; Joseph Elliott.

Ann Elizabeth Rogers 8 (2 November 1935), the first child of Byrtie and Dillard Rogers, was born in Washington, DC. She attended college but did not complete her studies. On June 1955, in Washington, DC, she married Paul Willett.

Martha Cornelia Rogers 8 (25 September 1937), the second child of Byrtie and Dillard Rogers, was born in Washington, DC. In June 1959, in Washington, DC, she married Gerald Fletcher.

Joseph Elliott Rogers 8 (11 October 1941), the third child of Byrtie and Dillard Rogers, was born in Washington, DC. Joe attended college in the 1970’s, but did not complete his studies. On 9 August 1971, in Texas, he married Elda -?- and divorced in 1972. Joe resides in North Myrtle Beach, SC. He has no issue.

Betty Elizabeth Charles 7, the third child of Anderson and Nancy Leila Charles, married Theodore Burton Appel, Jr. and was living in Chapaigne, Illinois at the time of her sister’s death in 1981. Betty died in Boulder, Colorado in August 1992. Betty and Theodore had three children: Theodore Burton III, Peter Charles and Elizabeth (Betty) Appel.

Theodore Burton ‘Ted’ Appel III 8  (20 October 1935), the first child of Theodore and Elizabeth Appel, was born in Lancaster, PA. He married on 20 June 1959, in Townson, MD, Deborah Anne Jones (18 July 1937), the daughter of Donald Spink and Helen Hopkins Jones of Providence, Rhode Island. Pete and Deborah reside in Vail, CO. They are the parents of three children: Theodore Burton IV; James Caulder; Elizabeth Dianne.

Peter Charles Appel 8 (18 September 1936) was the second child of Elizabeth and Theodore. He was born in Knoxville, TN. He married Sylvia Rose Salwei, daughter of John and Rose Salwei of Zeeland, ND. They had two children: Charles Burton, Gwendolyn Ann.

Charles Burton Appel 9 (2 Feburary 1968) resides in Boulder, CO.

Gwendolyn Ann Appel 9 (15 October 1970) married Keith Michael Pew of Kensington, MD. They have one daughter, Sylvia Elaine Pew and reside in Bethesda, MD.

Elizabeth Appel 8 (1939) was born in Lancaster, PA. She married Thomas Bailey, a retired Captain in the US Navy. They reside in San Diego California. They have one daughter, Susan Elizabeth.

Susan Elizabeth Appel Bailey 9 (July 1970) is married and has two daughters and resides San Diego California.

Theodore Burton Appel IV 9 (28 May 1962), the first child of Pete and Debbie Appel, was born in Akron, Ohio. He married on 21 September 1991, in Los Angeles, CA, Tracy Dieodonne.

James Caulder Appel 9 (29 August 1964), the second first child of Pete and Debbie Appel, was born in Akron, Ohio. He married Mary Beth Grindatti, on 28 September 1996, in Boulder, Colorado.

Elizabeth Dianne Appel 9 (6 December 1968), the third first child of Pete and Debbie Appel, was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She married John Edward Burgess on 15 August 1992, in Boulder, Colorado.

Fay Charles 7 (26 April 1911-11 April 1974), the fourth child of Anderson and Nancy Leila Charles, was born in Union, SC. He married Mattie Owens on 29 June 1929. Fay died in Spartansburg, SC. They had two children: Carrol Maurice of Woodriff, SC; Tommy Charles of Columbia, SC.

Carrol Maurice Charles 8 (22 April 1930), the first child of Mattie and Fay Charles, was born in Union, SC. He married first, Lois Todd. He married second, on 1 June 1952, in Barnwell, SC, Barbara Sue Phillips (28 May 1937), the daughter of Chester R. and Juanita M. Ventuyl Phillips of Monett, MO. They reside in Woodruff, SC. He married Helen Haynes (1913-1 January 1972), the daughter of John S. and Frances Elizabeth Turner Haynes of Spartanburg, SC. A.T. was a prominent merchant and business man in Spartanburg. A.T. and Helen are buried at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, SC. They had three children, all born in Spartanburg, SC: John Alvin; Jerry Thomas; Brenda Sue.

Sam S. Gallman 6 (19 April 1882-5 September 1952), the third child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Ola Mabry (12 November 1888-18 January 1956), the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Josephine Foster Mabry. Both are buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.

Lula Gallman 6 (23 September 1884-29 June 1958), the fourth child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Watt Page (27 July 1883-18 January 1956). Both are buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.

Thomas Albert Gallman 6 (19 August 1886-18 March 1952), the fifth child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Mary Emmie Hames. He is buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.

Boyd Gallman 6 (8 July 1887-15 April 1927), the sixth child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Bessie Palmer. They are buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.

Mamie Gallman 6 (1895-1927), the seventh child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Robert Mabry (8 June 1890-22 July 1952), the son of Benjamin Franklin and Josephine Foster Mabry. They are buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC. They had one child: Robert E.

Robert E. Mabry 7 (22 January 1921-6 June 1921), married as a second wife, Pearl Lybrand (1890-1980).

Arthur W. Gallman 6 (3 March 1892-29 September 1961), the eighth child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Letty Coleman (29 September 1893-?). He served in WWI, as Pvt. SC 9th Reg. F.A. Their child: Sarah Louise (17 September 1923- 9 November 1926). Arthur, his wife and his child are buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.

Louise Gallman 6, was the nineth child of Frances and Henry Gallman. Nothing is known about her, as of 2000.

Joe G. Gallman 6 (17 November 1899-1 July 1959), the tenth child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married Ruth Lee (15 February 1904-?). Both are buried in Gilead Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.

Ruth Gallman 6, the eleventh child of Frances and Henry Gallman, married first -?- Blackwood, and second, -?- Foster.

William Alexander ‘Willie’ Turner 5 (23 January 1891-17 January 1928), the third child of Thompson and Elizabeth Turner, married Lucy Matilda Davis (27 May 1871- 28 November 1927), the daughter of Patrick Jefferson and Elizabeth Ann Davis Davis. They are buried at Upper Fairforest Baptist Church, Union County, SC. They were the parents of 8 children, all born in Union County, SC: Robert Edward; Clara Elizabeth; William Preston; Eliza Annie; Benjamin Ryan; Martha Mae; Patrick Thompson; Glenn Turner (19 December 1908-29 August 1909). Glenn is buried at Upper Fairforest Baptist Church, Union County, SC.

Robert Edward Turner 6 (14 January 1894-26 October 1966), the first child of William Alexander and Lucy Turner, married Sallie Louise Nichols (11 May 1896, Hendersonville, NC – 8 May 1967, Union, SC), the daughter of William O. and Margaret J. Nichols. Both are buried in Rosemont Cemetery, Union, SC. Their children, all born in Union, SC: William Frank; Robert Edward, Jr.; Samuel Oscar; Orin Lee; Betty Ann.

William Frank Turner 7 (4 September 1915-13 September 1965), the first child of Robert and Sallie Turner, married Nell Smith. He served in WWII as S.C. Sgt. S.V.C. Btry. He is buried at Rosemont Cemetery, Union SC. Their children: William Frank, Jr.; Anne.

William Frank Turner, Jr. 8, the first child of William and Nell Turner, married Linda Seay. Their children: Kevin F.; Philip; Brad.

Robert Edward Turner, Jr. 7 (5 November 1916), the second child of Robert and Sallie Turner, married Annis Wilma Shipman (27 August 1919, Union, SC), the daughter of John Baylus and Banner Gertrude Lambright Shipman. Annis Turner died on 14 March 1997, in Florence, SC. She is buried in Rosemont Cemetery, Union, SC. Robert is living at Presbyterian Home, FLorence, SC (2000). Their children: Robert Edward III; Annis Hope; John Shipman.

Robert Edward Turner III, MD 8 (25 November 1945), the first child of Robert and Annis Turner, is in medical practice in Florence, SC in Rheumatology. He is a graduate of the University od South Carolina in Columbia, SC (BA 1967, Medical University of South Carolina (1971). He married Saundra Elizabeth Calhoun (2 April 1947, Conway, SC), the daughter of Raymond and Wilma Miller Calhoun, divorced. Robert is a Turner researcher and resides in Florence, SC. Robert Edward Turner V 9 (14 June 1973), the first child of Robert and Saundra Turner, was born in Charleston, SC. He is a graduate of USC-Columbia, with a BS in Engineering. He is a Civil Engineer in the Conway/Myrtle Beach, SC area. (2000)

Elizabeth Calhoun Turner 9 (3 May 1975), the second child of Robert and Saundra Turner, was born in Columbia, sc. She is a graduate of USC-Columbia, and is director of membership and marketing of the University Club Columbia, SC (2000).

Annis Hope Turner 8 (16 May 1950), the second child of Robert and Annis Turner, was born in Union, SC. She graduated from Francis Marion University, Florence, SC and from University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. She works as an alcohol and drug counselor in Walterboro, SC where she resides (2000). She is not married.

John Shipman Turner 8 (29 May 1955), the third child of Robert and Annis Turner, was born in Anderson, SC. He married Pamela Paul of Bamberg, SC. He is a graduate of the College of Charleston, and is a CPA in Florence, SC where he resides (2000). They do not have any children.

Samuel Oscar Turner 7, the third child of Robert and Sallie Turner, married Hattie Horne. He was in the education field of Union, SC when he retired. They resided in Union, SC (1995). Their children: Sammie; David; Harold.

Orin Lee (O.L.) Turner 7, (18 August 1921-25 March 1966), the fourth child of Robert and Sallie Turner, was born in Union, SC. He married on 18 February 1943 in Union, SC., Ferol Morris (21 September 1925), the daughter of James Monroe and Myrtle Johns Morris of Union, SC. O.L. died in Clinton, SC. He and their son, Morris Bruce, are buried at Rosemont Cemetary in Union, SC. Ferol remarried Wofford Benjamin Kelly and they reside in Clinton, SC. O.L and Ferol had three children, all born in Union, SC: Brenda Ann; Morris Bruce (23 May 1949-24 May 1949); Orin Lee Jr.

Brenda Ann Turner 8 (16 January 1944), the first child of O.L. and Ferol Turner, was born in Union, SC. She married on 25 March 1963, in Laurens, SC, William Crisp ‘Bill’ Wilson (2 September 1943) the son of Lowry Melmoth and Violet Crisp Wilson of Clinton, SC. Bill graduated from Clemson University with a BS in Chemical Eng. He worked for 35 years as an engineer at Celanese Fibers, Rock Hill, SC, and is currently working for Fisher Sherer Engineering as general manager in Rock Hill, SC. Rise Ann Wilson 9 (28 November 1963), the first child of Bill and Brenda Wilson, was born in Clinton, SC. Tamara Elaine Wilson 9 (14 December 1966), the second child of Bill and Brenda Wilson, was born in Rock Hill, SC. She married Darryl Lynn McLeod, MD (1 February 1958), the son of Glenn and Velma Brown McLeod of Jacksonville, FL. Darryl is a graduate of Furman University, Greenville, SC (BS), of the University of South Florida School of Medecine, he interned at Bowman Gray Teaching Hospital, Winston-Salem, NC, and is currently Senior Pathologist, Greenwood Hospital, Greenwood, SC. Tamara graduated from Clemson University (BS Computer Science, 1989), and was employed by Fluor Daniel, Greenville, SC, prior to their marriage. They reside in Greenwood, SC (2000). They have one child: David Lee (18 July 1997), born in Greenwood, SC.

William Crisp Wilson, Jr. 9 (13 April 1971), the third child of Bill and Brenda Wilson, was born in Rock Hill, SC. He is single and resides in Rock Hill, SC.

Butch graduated from Clemson University, (BS Forestry 1975), and is currently employed by Chesterfield Lumber Co, Darlington, SC as a SC Registered Forester. Pam graduated from Erskine College, Due West, SC (BS Math, 1976), and teaches high school math. They reside in Florence, SC. Betty Ann Turner 7 (29 December 1928), the fifth child of Robert and Sallie Turner, was born in Union, SC. She married on 23 June 1951, in Union, SC, Landrum Furman ‘Sid’ Foster (1 April 1926), the son of Lewis Clinton and Ejay Woodruff Forster of Spartanburg, SC. Betty graduated from Lander University (BS, 1949), from Converse College (MAT, 1968) and taught Math for 37 years in the Spartanburg Schools. Sid attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Clemson University. He was a salesman for the Draper Corp. They reside in Spartanburg, SC (2000). Their children: Sally Elizabeth; Dianne Jaye; William Clinton.

Sally Elizabeth Foster 8 (8 November 1952), the first child of Sid and Betty Ann Foster, was born in Spartanburg, SC. She married on 20 March 1982, in Spartanburg, SC, Charles Theodore O’Conner (22 June 1954), the son of Charles John and Helen Sledge O’Conner of Augusta, GA. Sally graduated from Lander University, (Medical Technology, 1975) and is supervisor of the blood bank at St Joseph’s Hospital, Augusta, GA. Dianne Jaye Foster 8 (4 August 1956), the second child of Sid and Betty Ann Foster, was born in Spartanburg, SC. She married Russell Lane King (24 August 1955), the son of Joseph and Ruby Dickerson King of Henderson, NC. Dianne graduated from Wake Forest University with a BA in Business Administration in 1978. Russell graduated from UNC in Chapel Hill in 1979. They own an Allstate Insurance Agency in Asheville, NC. They reside in Arden, NC (2000). They have two children, both born in Charlotte, NC: Katherine Lane (10 October 1983); Taylor Jaye (14 January 1987).

William Clinton Foster 8 (9 November 1963), the third child of Sid and Betty Ann Foster, was born in Spartanburg, SC. On 23 April 1994, in Gatlinburg, TN, he married Mary Angela Amato, the daughter of Dr. Sam and Rhoda Amato. They are divorced. Bill graduated from the University of Tennesse in Chattannoga in 1987 and from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1997. He is currently a chef in the Richmond, VA area where he resides (2000). William does not have any children.

Clara Elizabeth Turner 6 (26 December 1895-13 December 1954), the second child of William Alexander and Lucy Turner, was born in Union County, SC. She married Charles Maxwell Scott (26 February 1887-10 May 1971). She is buried at Rosemont Cemetery, Union, SC, along with their infant daughter. Mary Susan Turner 5 (1 March 1863-13 January 1924), the fourth child of Thompson and Elizabeth Turner, married Elias Miles Smith (1859-29 May 1909), the son of Thomas Jefferson Hughes and Josephine Swann Smith. They are buried at Fairforst Baptist Church in Union County, SC. They were the parents of eight children: Alsie Obelia; Florence Belle (29 July 1888-2 June 1889); Wallace Thompson; Ethel (1 January 1892-11 July 1892); James Douglas; Lillie Mae; Charles Aubrey; Josephine Elizabeth.

Alsie Obelia Smith 6 (31 May 1886-9 May 1975), the first child of Elias Miles and Mary Susan Turner Smith, was born in Union Co. She married on 12 October 1918, John Byrd Bradley (17 August 1890-2 December 1936) of Bluefield, West Virginia, the son of John Byrd and Phebia Byrd Bradley. Alsie graduated from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC and taught school for several years. Later she became the first Home Demonstration Agent for Union County for which she was best remembered. Both John and Alsie died in Union County, and are buried at Union Memorial Gardens, in Union, SC. They were the parents of five children: Mary Elizabeth; Martha Miles; John Byrd Jr,; James Wesley; William Smith.

Mary Elizabeth ‘Snookie’ Bradley 7 (5 August 1919 -3 December 1995), the first child of John Byrd and Alsie Smith Bradley, was born in Union Co. She married on 15 February 1950, in Blacksburg, SC, Obed Lawton ‘Gus’ Gilbert (1927-2 February 2000), the son of John Dennis and Hattie Lelia Snipes Gilbert. Snookie served as bookkeeper and office manager for Smith Lumber Co., which was owned by her uncle, Doug Smith. Gus was a graduate of Wofford College (1949) and very active in the life of Union. He was editor of the Union Daily Times for several years and later owned and operated Union City Tool and Stamping Co. Both are buried at Union Memorial Gardens, Union SC. They had no children.

Martha Miles Bradley 7 (29 November 1920-8 June 1968), the second child of John Byrd and Alsie Smith Bradley, was born in Union Co. She married Talmadge Dewitt Wilkins, Jr. on 19 June 1944 in Union, SC, the son of Talmadge Dewitt and Olney Pearl Simmons Wilkins. Martha died in Spartanburg, SC, and is buried at Mountain View Cemetery, Blacksburg, SC. Talmadge Wilkins married second, Reba Jernigan, and third, Mary Louise Colby. They were the parents of six children: Elizabeth Ann; Martha Miles; Talmadge Dewitt III; Susan Turner; Judith Anita; Mary Catherine.

Elizabeth Ann ‘Beth’ Wilkins 8 (28 July 1945), the first child of Talmadge and Martha Bradley Wilkins, was born in Union Co, SC. She graduated from Winthrop University and received her pharmacy degree from USC-Columbia. She married Robin Shropshire. Both Robin and Beth are pharmacist in Rock Hill, SC. They have one child: Brian.

Martha Miles ‘Sissy’ Wilkins 8 (31 August 1946), the second child of Talmadge and Martha Bradley Wilkins, was born in Gaffney, SC. She married Donald Benton Brock on 24 November 1978, the son of L.H. Brock and Mabel Finch Brock. She is a graduate of Winthrop University. They have two children, both born in Gaffney, SC: Donald Benton, Jr. (18 April 1980); Martha B. (13 December 1983).

Talmadge Dewitt ‘Tal’ Wilkins III 8 (2 April 1948), the third child of Talmadge and Martha Bradley Wilkins, was born in Cherokee Co., SC. On 10 June 1972, in York County, SC, he married Mary Ann Hood (20 May 1949), the daughter of Fay M. and Margaret Hughes Pridemore Hood of York County, SC. Tal practices dentisty in Union, SC where he resides. They are the parents of two children, both born in Spartanburg, SC: Talmadge Dewitt IV (29 March 1976); Andrew Bradley (4 February 1979).

Susan Turner Wilkins 8 (5 February 1950), the fourth child of Talmadge and Martha Bradley Wilkins, was born in Gaffney, SC. She married Elliott C. Wallace. They reside in Rock Hill, SC. They have one child: Jennifer Catherine (30 March 1984).

Judith Anita Wilkins 8 (1 September 1952), the fifth child of Talmadge and Martha Bradley Wilkins, was born in Spartanburg, SC. She is a graduate of Winthrop University and of University of Tennesse with a MA in Physical Education. She married Kenneth Ralph Rose (6 March 1940) on 19 July 1986. They do not have children.

Mary Catherine Wilkins 8 (31 August 1954), the sixth child of Talmadge and Martha Bradley Wilkins, was born in Gaffney, SC. She married on 31 August 1975 in Blacksburg, SC, Ansel Edgar Hardin, Jr. They have two children: Ansel Edgar III (11 October 1981); Catherine Ann (6 August 1990).

John Byrd Bradley, Jr. 8 (23 October 1922-17 May 1992), the third child of John Byrd and Alsie Smith Bradley, was born in Union Co. On 25 June 1949, in Gaffney, SC, he married Annie Mae Morris (26 February 1924), the daughter of James Thomas and Thaddie L. Horne Morris of Union, SC. John died in Rock Hill, SC and is buried at Forest Hills Cemetera, Rock Hill, SC. They had two children: John Byrd III; Donald Wayne.

John Byrd Bradley III 8 (10 April 1954), the first child of John Byrd and Annie Mae Bradley, was born in Rock Hill, SC. On 30 August 1986, he married Angela Denise Clark (4 May 1964) of North Carolina. John attended Gallaudet College, Washington, DC and works for IBM. They reside in Georgetown, KY (2000). They are the parents of two children, both born in Spartanburg, SC: Kayla Amanda (15 May 1990); Emily Krista (11 May 1993).

Donald Wayne Bradley 8 (4 February 1956), the second child of John Byrd and Annie Mae Bradley, was born in Rock Hill, SC. On 24 September 1977, he married Ellen Marie Pittman (28 August 1957), the daughter of John Harvey and Bobbie Jean Sikes Pittman. Donald graduated from York Technical College, Rock Hill, SC, with a degree in Engineering. He works for Duke Energy as Shift Manager. They reside in Rock Hill, SC (2000). They have two children, both born in Rock Hill, SC: Kimberley Ann (7 October 1980); Jonathan Thomas (21 February 1982).

James Wesley ‘Jimmy’ Bradley 7 (30 December 1925), the fourth child of John Byrd and Alsie Smith Bradley, was born in Union Co. On 16 February 1947, he married Hazel Joan Perry. They reside in Union, SC. They have two children: Mary Elizabeth; James Wesley Jr.

Mary Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Bradley 8 (9 December 1950), the first child of James Wesley and Hazel Joan Bradley, was born in Union, SC. She married Walter Peter Belouin, Jr. The marriage ended in divorce. She married second, Phillip Thomas. Mary and first husband Walter Belouin, Jr. had two children, both born in Nashville, TN: Laura Elizabeth (26 August 1977); Daniel Walter (23 November 1978).

James Wesley ‘Brad’ Bradley, Jr. 8 (26 January 1957), the second child of James Wesley and Hazel Joan Bradley, was born in Union, SC. Brad is a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist College and Furman University with a B.A. On 11 September 1982, he married Jan White (14 August 1959), the daughter of Mr and Mrs Sam Watson White. Jan attended Spartanburg Methodist College and received a B.A. from Winthrop University. They reside in Union, SC (2000). They have one child, born in Spartanburg, SC: Amy Susan (29 November 1986).

William Smith ‘Bill’ Bradley 7 (3 May 1928-6 November 1987), the fifth child of John Byrd and Alsie Smith Bradley, was born in Union Co. On 21 June 1947, he married Dorothy Skipper. He owned Bradley Industrial Services. Bill is buried at Union Memorial Gardens, Union, SC. Dorothy resides in Union, SC (2000). They had no children.

Wallace Thompson Smith 8 (6 September 1890-3 April 1928), the third child of Elias Miles and Mary Susan Turner Smith, was born in Union Co. He never married, and is buried at Fairforest Baptist Church in Union County, SC.

James Douglas Smith 8 (3 April 1893-23 October 1970), the fifth child of Elias Miles and Mary Susan Turner Smith, was born in Union Co. On 19 October 1923, he married Nina G. Sexton (19 November 1887-3 May 1957), the daughter of John T. and Margaret Waldrop Sexton. He owned and operated Smith Lumber Co. in Union, SC. Both are buried at Rosemont Cemetary in Union, SC. They had two children: James Douglas Jr,; Margaret Elizabeth.

James Douglas Smith, Jr. 7 (16 April 1925), the first child of James Douglas and Nina Sexton Smith, was born in Union Co. On 14 January 1951, he married Betty Bishop (14 June 1927). They reside in Hixton, TN (2000). They have three children: Nina Louise; James Douglas III; Betty Cynthia.

Nina Louise Smith 8 (19 January 1954), the first child of James Douglas Jr. and Betty Bishop Smith, was born in Chattanooga, TN. On 13 November 1980, she married Richard Morgan (11 January 1952). They have no issue.

James Douglas Smith III 8 (21 January 1956), the second child of James Douglas Jr. and Betty Bishop Smith, was born in Chattanooga, TN. He married Cathy Williams. They are the parents of two children: Lindsey Erin (May 1983); Brittany Marie (December 1984).

Betty Cynthia Smith 8 (12 July 1957), the third child of James Douglas Jr. and Betty Bishop Smith, was born in Chattanooga, TN. On 27 October 1985, she married, as his second wife, Eric Otto Hanson (10 May 1949), the son of George W. and Dorothea J. Hanson of Peoria, Illinois. Eric was married first to Carrie L. Betty and Eric have two children, both born in Hickory, NC: Karlin Anders (21 July 1986); Meredith Elsie (9 July 1988).

Margaret Elizabeth ‘Tuttie’ Smith 7 (15 February 1927), the second child of James Douglas and Nina Sexton Smith, was born in Union Co. On 8 August 1950, in Union, SC, she married Wiley ‘Buddy’ Sheorn, Jr. (24 June 1927-8 August 1977), the son of Wiley and Beulah C. Taylor Sheorn of Camden, SC. Tuttie graduated with a BA in 1948 from Limestone College, Gaffney, SC. Buddy graduated from US-Columbia with a BS in 1949. Buddy was President of Smith Lumber Co. at the time of his death in Kershaw County, SC. He is buried at Grace Methodist Church, Union CS. Tuttie resides in Union, SC (2000). They had three children: Wiley III; Susan Douglas; Douglas Smith.

Wiley ‘Trip’ Sheorn III 8 (22 August 1953), the first child of Wiley and Margaret Smith Sheorn, was born in Union, SC. On 4 February 1978, in Augusta, GA, he married Mary Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Mahony (31 May 1954), the daughter of Robert Druen and Mary Mahony of Atlanta, GA. Trip graduated from The Citadel with a BS in Business in 1976. Betsy graduated from Converse College, Spartanburg, SC with a BA in Education in 1976. Trip Sheorn is the President of Smith Lumber Co. in Union, SD where he and his family reside (2000). They have two children, both born in Spartanburg, SC: Wiley Druen ‘Drew’ (1 August 1983); Mary Caroline (5 October 1985).

Susan Douglas Sheorn 8 (7 March 1956), the second child of Wiley and Margaret Smith Sheorn, was born in Union, SC. On 21 June 1980, in Union, SC, she married Gerald Walter ‘Jerry’ Patrylick (11 July 1956), the son of Walter and Katherine Walsh Patrylick. Susan graduated from the College of Charleston with a BS in Special Education in 1979. Jerry graduated from The Citadel with a BA in Political Science in 1978. Jerry works for Becton Dickerson in Durham NC where they reside (2000). Their children: Margaret Elizabeth ‘Meg’ (28 October 1985, Sumter, SC); Amy Walsh (10 May 1988, Sumter, SC); Susan Taylor (13 January 1992, Durham, NC).

Douglas Smith Sheorn 8 (29 April 1961), the third child of Wiley and Margaret Smith Sheorn, was born in Union, SC. Douglad graduated from Clemson University with a BA in English in 1984. He has worked for the Federal Government since graduation, at the White House for six years, the Dept of Energy and at the present (2000), the Justice Dept. Douglas is not married and lives in Washington, DC.
